Ron started “Camp Butter and Egg” in 2001, teaching baseball lessons and offering a limited selection of outdoor recreation options to enhance the summer baseball day camps. In later years, sports training was phased out, but Ron continued to build adventure venues and grow the business to one that attracts guests from a multi-state area. Ron retired from Troy State University, where he served as Director of Auxiliary Services. He holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Troy State University and has completed Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) Challenge Course and Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA) certifications.
